Swim
Comments: Pretty good swim. Felt good and stayed in a good rhythm. Just tried to get clean water and go. Transition 1
Comments: Long run from swim to bike. Aside from the run it was a quick transition. Bike
Comments: This may be the toughest 20 mile bike I've ever done in a race. I've never done this race before and the hills were really tough. I don't have issues with the hills and I think they were great. There was one hill that some were talking about that people had to get out and walk up. I did slow down on some of the downhills that lead into turns as the last thing I wanted to do was crash. No reason to get injured during this race. Also had to stop for about 30 seconds at mile 12. My spare tube fell out of my x-wing on the back because the raod was rought. I had to stop and pull the tube off and throw it in my pocket. This 30 seconds cost me 6th place but fortunately the tube didn't get caught in my wheel. Transition 2
Comments: Got out of shoes on bike and had good transition. Decided to put socks on which slowed me down but I figured it wasn't worth getting a blister over. I need to try the new Zoot shoes for Olympics and shorter. Run
Comments: Still didn't feel great on this run even though it was sub 7 min/mile. I definitely don't have all my speed back from last year. I'm guessing the tough bike also had something to do with it. Post race
Warm down: Just drank some and hung out for a while. Didn't stick around for awards as they were waiting until everyone was done and I wanted to get out on the lake. Event comments: This is a fun little race. The bike is tough. Last updated: 2008-07-26 12:00 AM
