I am so sorry....I had a dog that helped me through a lot of tough times...It was heartbreaking to let her go.

Sorry for your loss.  There is nothing like a good dog to get you through the alone times of our lives.  Glad you got to spend her last seconds together.  Again, so sorry.

For about a year now my 13 year old Black lab has been struggling with Kidney disease.  This weekend she stopped eating and lost the power to move around,as her legs had become so weak.  I decided that I would take her in and let the vet do what she had to do this morning.  At 9:30 on Sunday night I laid down on the floor next to her and stroked her back, whispering in her ear that it was OK, she could let go and stop fighting.  I no sooner had it out of my mouth when she looked at me and passed on.  She hung strong and tough until I was reday to let her go, because that is what she always did for me.  When it was just her and I, she saved my life twice when I needed medical attention.  She never slept at night so she could watch the house and made sure nobody came around while we slept.  The one time someone did try and enter my house, they realized very quickly that is was a huge mistake, as my gentle sweet dog turned violent in an instant to protect her family.

I will miss her so much that I can't even tell you.  I hope that you all have the experience of having a dog as good as Mischa in your life.  The thought of going home tonight and not having her waiting for me breaks my heart.  Goodbye little one, I will miss you.

This is a picture of her doing her favorite thing.

Sorry to hear about your girl... she looks just like my Kiera.   ***Hugs***
