Overall Rank = 108/258
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 6/20
Pre-race routine:

ate english muffin w/ pb; some coffee, water, luna moons
Event warmup:

no warm up
Swim
  • 08m 31s
  • 328 yards
  • 02m 36s / 100 yards
Comments:

Actually could not have gone better. That's about all I am capable of at the moment. Nice having a lane. I tried one flip turn and it took too much out of me. Didn't really stop but had to work hard to finish. At least it's only a temporary tiring. So everything was average for me.
What would you do differently?:

Just need laps in the pool. I've been working hard on my stroke but I have no endurance w/it. And my mental block - I HATE SWIMMING. Of course, I hated running a year ago and this fall I'm doing my first marathon. So there is hope.
Transition 1
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Pretty good but I could have been faster. It's a very small transition area so not a lot of ground to cover. 3/20 in my age group.
What would you do differently?:

Practice
Bike
  • 38m 3s
  • 11.5 miles
  • 18.13 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt good on the bike. Needed more miles in training to sustain mph. I'd get up to 20-22mph then my legs would get tired.
What would you do differently?:

Train more on the bike
Transition 2
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

This is the only area I did something stupid. I was unbuckling bike shoes and somehow thought I was putting on my 2nd running shoe. But instead I rebuckled my bike shoe. So I lost probably 20 sec. there.
What would you do differently?:

Pay ateention to shoes
Run
  • 26m 56s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Pretty good run for me. I keep getting faster so thats a step in the right direction. My breathing was still labored in the beginning but I got that under control. Really sprinted the last few hundred feet. I had a time goal of 1:16:30 and I monitored my run the entire time to make sure I met it. I came in w/ 38 seconds to spare. Also proud that I was 20min. faster than last year. This event was my first triathlon last year so its nice to see the improvement.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - keep training and doing speedwork to get faster
Post race
Warm down:

walked and ate a bagel.

Event comments:

Great little race. Organized and a real emphasis on fun. I hope to do this race every year and continue to improve.
