Comments: Better than I was expecting. Had difficulty getting into freestyle stroke for the fist third of the distance. Putting face in the cold water takes my breath away. Once I was able to get into freestyle stroke things went ok. What would you do differently?: Spend more time before the race getting used to the water temp. Do not try to breathe every 3rd stroke, switch to every 2nd to better deal with adrenaline. Transition 1

Comments: The hills were killing me. The downhills were great! Transition 2
Comments: Had severe toe cramps, could not put on running shoes until was able to break the cramping. This transition took too long because of the toe cramping. What would you do differently?: Made adjustments to the cleat position and overall bike adjustment, should have less/ no toe cramping problem Run
Comments: Had to walk in the beginning and a lot of uphill parts of the course. Wasn't hydrating on the bike, so took a lot of water/sports drink before running, all this liquid was bouncing up and down in my stomach for the first mile or so. Felt better after 1.5 miles in. Ran all the way back, no walking, the fact that it was downhill was helpful. What would you do differently?: Need to train running hills, only ran flats before this event Post race

Drove out to Lake Berryessa on Saturday with Claudia and Yelena the day before the race. Checked into our mobile cottage and decided to explore the area a bit. Claudia and I wanted to jump in the water to test out the temp and Claudia's new wetsuit.
