I started pretty fast figuring I'd make the best of the flat even footing before the rocky trails and hills. Did my standard strategy of taking it easy on the uphills and trying to push a bit on the flats and downhills. I got passed by 5 or 6 people on the first big uphill. Near the top of the hill I got passed by a woman who had also passed me last year at about mile 10 of the Big Brothers 1/2. She completely ditched my last year, so I decided to try to stay with her this year. I kept her within sight the whole race, but couldn't catch her. Traded spots with another guy a few times, I finally passed him at about mile 4. About 1/4 mile from the finish I hear someone hauling ass from behind and I wonder who could possibly be running so fast this late in the race. Turns out to be the guy I'd been trading places with earlier in the race. It appeared that he had set some sort of goal to catch me, because as soon as he flew past me, he let way up. I passed him again with about 50 yards to go and he didn't seem to have anything left. It was kind of fun to do a little racing, I usually don't try to sprint past people at the finish....maybe I'll start.

Not much other than the usual need for more training.
