amyro1234 - 2008-08-14 2:21 PM Colder than 75? That is freezing (without a wetsuit)! I hope the lake warms up some between now and the 24th!

Stop worrying!  You're going to jump in the water and smile at how warm it is!  Really!

David tri's - 2008-08-18 9:28 AM 6 Days Left, are you ready?

I have been ready for the last two weeks.  I will do some running, riding nd transition practice this week but I am psyched and ready!  I did a full practice race a couple of weeks ago and it felt good.  I am used to doing marathons so I am used to going that long... EK

I am SO ready!

I have a BT shirt that I'm going to put over a piece of cardboard and make a sign.

If you get your transition set up or are just hanging out, find the sign and we can hang out together and maybe get a group pic.  I'm staying at the campground and am going down on Friday, so I'll have no computer access after Friday afternoon.

Tammy, I will look for your sign after I set up in the AM...  Unfortunatly, my BT shirt is in Tucson.  I intend to get there early.  I do much better if I have been up for a while.

I will be there Saturday in the afternoon to pick up my numbers, etc.  Then having dinner -- I think -- with some folks from the Cincy Express Tri club at the Friday's at 5:30.  Then off to bed...  I will be in my Tucson Desert Heat Tri Club top and bottom.  I don't know how many short guys with gray hair will be wondering around but I may be easy to find that way.   I hope to meet some of you that I have blogged with but never met.  Emerson

To all my BT friends:

Dinner the night before in Springfield??

There is a TGI Friday's in the shopping area at the intersection of 68 and 41 in Springfield. I will be at dinner there early 5:30 PM. It is near the hotels that have been mentioned in the GBC material and not too far from the park. They shut down the place to get your number at the beach at 5:00 PM. Race day pick up is 6:00am to 7:30 am...

TGI Friday's Address:
1720 N Bechtle Ave
Springfield, OH 45504
(937) 322-8121

Hope to see some of you there.... I think a table of triathletes will be easy to find.

Food for thought, Emerson

Updated info on the HFP site regarding the course

AID STATIONS
The run aid stations will have ice, water, HEED, Hammer Gel, E-Caps, fruit and cookies at the transition exit, mile 1, mile two, and mile three. Participants will pass by each aid station twice on the way out and back. Half participants will pass by the aid stations four times. Half participants will have two aid stations on the bike with water and HEED (in bottles), ice, Hammer Gel, E-Caps, fruit and cookies. Aid stations wil be in the town of Catawba and the turn around back at the transition area (mile 28).

Looks like we will be running a multi-loop 3mi course for the half and for the Oly. It sounds very supported.

Good luck everyone!

What are E-caps?

Basically salt tablets. Endorlyte/Electrolyte capsuels. Never tried them... won't try them at the race. Nothing new or race day remember!

If you get back to your computer race time, let us know your number.  It will be easier to cheer you on...  I am doing the mini du and will be there to cheer you on when you come into transition... EK
