Subject: Track calories burned?

I'm interested in using BT for my nutrition tracking but don't see a way to track the cals burned for exercise against my intake so that I would have a cal net for the day, is that right?

If that is true, can it be added? And while I'm requesting stuff :] can the cal totals & serving size info for the foods listed be shown in the area where you click the 'Add' button? (helps differentiate between all the items that have the same description and having to review the details to decide if that's appropriate to add).

Thanks!

I'd like this as well...I just assumed that there was a reason the calories burned wasn't included in the training log. Interestingly, with the HR data and weight, BT should be able to calculate a reasonable estimate.

ditto.  i currently use a different site for food tracking b/c they have this feature.  i would LOVE for BT to integrate cals burned vs. cals tracked and then i could just put everything in one place, here on BT!

Thanks for bumping that other related thread!

I would totaly dig not using another site for nutrition tracking [but I'm glad the primary focus here has been tri-based, I know it's soo hard to make big features like nutrion & sports tracking include all the options that we desire :]

Thanks for all you do BT Design team!

Marmadaddy is finishing up a major project now regarding training plans, I think last I saw this was at the top of the list for him after that...so hopefully not too much longer.

You are right, we do need to get this done to have the 'full circle' of calorie tracking.

Near the top of the list. You can kind of make it out on this part of my whiteboard*:

 Whiteboard

The first two lines is what I'm doing now. Believe me I can't wait to get it done†.  The new Profile page stuff is ahead of the calorie logging, but they could actually be done concurrently.

* Before anyone asks, that white line at the top of the picture is the bottom of a BT banner hanging on my wall.

If Ron ever approaches me again with an Excel spreadsheet to be turned into a web app, I will not be responsible for my actions...

Any chance this topic will be addressed in the new version of BT this year?

It won't be addressed in the new version of BT, since calories burned is a significant thing in itself we wouldn't want to implode the site and launch them both at once.

I would say mid-year, at least that is my hope.  Once matt is done with his big thing (redesign/enhancements) and mike is done with his (custom training plan creator), we will be all set to make quick progress on a lot of things this year.

Again, sorry for the delay on this.  It shouldn't be much longer.
