Pre-race routine:

up at 5AM... COFFEE!! two cups.. 3 pieces of toast... gatorade/accelerade sipping at the t-zone.
laid out all my stuff.... mah took some picso of me.. saw SPARCO (Sal).. ate a GU prior to swimming.. waited 30 minutes before I got to start..8:30ish.
Event warmup:

swam out to first bouy.. felt great.. water was kindah muddy.. esp. compared to racine (which is crystal clear!)
Swim
  • 28m 10s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

lined up , 3 second intervals... funny thing at this swim leg.. there were 4 ducks/geese in between the swim begin and the swim end.. and they kept going back and forth.. they finally braved it on the swim begin.. and two got past.. a swimmer looked like he/she was going to swim right on top of them.. pretty funny watching.. the other 4 got past..though so no duck damaged in this race.. I swam and kept my body straight ..saw the bottom a few times cuz it was only like 1 foot below me.. doh!! turtle Lake seems to be shrinking more and more.. not sure if they can keep having the race in this lake anymore..
What would you do differently?:

kept running into people... need to navigate better... felt good though.. 1 mile in 28 aint too shabby for me..
Transition 1
  • 03m
Comments:

took my time.. felt like I did better though.. 3" is pretty avg though...
What would you do differently?:

i dunno.. i dont really care how long it take really...
Bike
  • 59m 21s
  • 21.38 miles
  • 21.61 mile/hr
Comments:

holy sh@#t there are some fast biker in my AG.. geez.. I thought I did pretty good.. but made it right in the middle of the pack again.. I need to avg 23-24 to make it up to top.. i might be able to do that more then decrease run time..
What would you do differently?:

push a lot harder.. I could have done 22.. if I didn't play stupid mind games.. but all in all.. I did .2 mph faster then last year... so I cant complain.. but I would have liked better considering how much I have put into cycling this year compared to last..
Transition 2
  • 02m 5s
Comments:

not much to say here...just nice to bike into zone though.. like that..
Run
  • 44m 34s
  • 5.1 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

my slowest and weakest component.. but keeping below 9" made my day.. would have liked 8:30s.. but I didn't feel like killing myself.. albeit.. maybe I should just HTFU huh... lol .. kept the HR in z3 most of the way though...
What would you do differently?:

push harder.. and not worry.. about what happens next.. but with IM Mooo I wasn't willing to this time...
Post race
Warm down:

water... bananas.. i felt really good afterwards..

What limited your ability to perform faster:

mind games.. holding back

Event comments:

Good race.. was a nice prelude to IM Moo... i like this race .. cause its so flat.. and just seems easier for some reason.. its also only 10 minutes from my house.. so no complaints in commuting to this one.. Got a nice jacket this year for the 25th Annv. but not medal this time.. sortah strange cause last two years I have had nice medals.. but not this year.. hmmmm.

Nice race - we chatted a bit this morning - I didn't realize who you were! Good luck at IMMoo - maybe we'll run into each other there!
