Swim
Comments: the swim was horrible. swimming into the sun and you could not see. I fell into a group quickly that was way off course. I could draft pretty well and I really pushed the swim because I knew it would be my sport. I had no idea how I would do on the bike so I wanted a good swim time. It was as good as I been doing in the pool. What would you do differently?: today I needed the swim google swim googles Transition 1
Comments: I worked pretty fast. The suit was a little tricky but only took like 40 secs. getting the socks on was the worst. Plus one was inside out opps. Still one of my fast t1s ever What would you do differently?: make sure the sock are right and put them in the bike shoes and not the running shoes Bike
Comments: It went well. The hills were hard for me. my knee started hurting again at mile 6. I guess I needed more time off before I tried to bike again. Since I knew I was having troubles running I wanted to push the bike pretty hard. Garmin had no power so I just road by feel. I might gone alot faster than I thought but sometimes not knowing how fast you are going is a good thing. I did not drink anything on the bike because its hard for me to drunk on my road bike. I figured I was ok not drinking. on the bike. What would you do differently?: honestly I probably needed to either be healed or trained better still did well based on my condistion. Transition 2
Comments: I came found my bike quickly and I was kinda like omg I can not be ready for the run so quickly. That ir probbaly why I had the fastest t2 ever or atleast the closest to it. What would you do differently?: nothing only a jumping off the bike would have saved me more time. Run
Comments: Well it was starting to get hot and I did not drink anything on the bike. Had had gatarade as you got out of the water and on the run so that helped alot. I was dehydrated some though. Run went well considering I avg 12 min miles where my training runs I been avging 15 min miles lately. What would you do differently?: just be better trained and I would been fine. Post race
Warm down: ate food and talked to my family who came out and watched me race. What limited your ability to perform faster: My lack of training in the last 2 months and my injury. I think I could have pushed the bike harder but I did not want my knee to hurt. I think it was more conditioning than pain. Atleast I know the pain is not too serious. Event comments: I really liked this race and will probably be back next year. I just hope they do something about the swim or I will need to bring sun glasses googles. Either way it was pretty cool race. I like the 2 identical loops on the bike and the run since you really got to see the other racers where I would normally not see anyone.
