I feel like I should know the answer to this, but I don't.

I'd like to try using a gel flask.  How much do you mix together?  Is it equal parts gel and water?

Thanks!

I usually use Gu.  Anyone use that in a flask?

I've had good luck with Powerbar Gel in my flask. I'll mix a little Gatorade or PowerBar Electrolyte drink. I'll usually use 3/4 gel with 1/4 drink. This weekend though I tried Clif Shot gel and it would not mix at all!

AccelGel works without dilution, too.

Curious...which Powerbar Gel flavor mixes best with the PB Electrolyte drink? I currently use the PB Electrolyte mix (lemon flavor, I like it a lot), but have not experimented with mixing it in with a gel. What do you normally use for this combo?

I've used GU in a gel flask. If you have one that has the ounce marking on the side I typically fill it with gel to in between the "1" and the base of the flask (if you're holding it open end up) I can usually get about 5 gels in there and just top if off with water.

Give it a good shake and the GU should thin out. The only problem I find with using the flask is that I don't really pay attention to how much I'm ingesting at once, so I rarely get an even feeding each time. But that's just me.

I'm not very scientific when I mix mine, but I pour the entire GU into the flask and then fill it the rest of the way with water.  I figure by the time I finish a flask, I've taken a GU.    If I need two GU's, I'll pour in two GU's, fill the rest with water and then try to remember that I have two GU's in the flask and not one.

Usually I've been using the lemon with the Vanilla...it's not great tasting but it's not awful either. If I'm mixing gel/drink I try to use the more bland gel. It seems to work well.

Yup, 5 at a time into the gel bottle.  No liquid.  If it's cold out, I'll keep it close to my body or else it turns into almost immovable sludge.

I mix flavors putting one in, then another, etc. so you get this nice pretty little rainbow in the bottle ..... Innocent

For a morning run or ride sometimes I mix the Gu Double Expresso with Vanilla Bean for a latte ... it's good

I haven't added water to my gel flasks ... but will look into it.

Adding water reduces the viscosity of the gel, making it easier to get it all out of the flask. Something I forgot to do at Vineman, much to my regret!

No problems with straight GU in the flask, as long as its not too cold.  It will flow fine in warm weather.  That said, I do wish it was as viscus(sp) as Hammer Gel.  Hammer flows out so easily.

Like when you mix all the soda flavors together?

Ok...those are my two favorite flavors.  That sounds really good.  I'm going to have to try that one.
