You guys must be slamming the phone lines at WTC.  The phone just rang and rang and noone picked up.

Ok I got my number which is 284 and I just realized some facts that are too good to be mere coincidence....

284 divided by pi = 90 (which is the swim time in minutes I'm shooting for)

the square root of 284 = 16.85 (which is a perfectly acceptable finish time for me in hrs.)

  • ...and the one that is ABSOLUTELY UNDENIABLE....

  • the cube root of 284 = 6.573 (which rounds to 7, which is the time in hrs. I'm looking at for the bike)

    Unbelievable I know....it's a sign...

Ok, you guys got Mike's keyboard, you can take mine too.

I decided I am not calling. I can wait a few more days until I found out what number I am. I hate to bug those poor people.

$10 says this is the last time they ever do this.

I don't know, Anne was aboslutly delightful with me & very helpful. I am just too neurotic not to know when everyone else knew!
1341 will be my lucky number for the day!!

Same here.  I think the operator will be the one most annoyed by it.

You know him.  You love him.  He's number 581 in your program but number 1 in your hearts.  Heeeeeee's I-F-G!

    Hmm, I'd take 13th in my AG?! 41st, not quite as good, or 13:41 would be a slight improvement on last year, maybe 1 + 3 + 4 + 1 = 9, so I'd love a 9 hour finish . . . I need to go nap now.

I was thinking the same thing...but then I realized I won't be able to send out an email to my friends and family telling them they can go to ironmanlive and track #2114 to check on my progress.  Also, need to get the info to Aaron so he can update the IMKY watching thread.

I agree, why not just post the numbers and avoid a few hundred (if not thousand) phone calls.

Wow, all you guys with only 3 numbers must be young folks?!

I don't know how the assign the numbers but figure the start with the pros and then go up the age groups....probably alternating male and female AGs.  By the time they get to us old folks, they're up into 4 digits!

Last year I was 1669 (I know becuase I have my plastic bike race number handing on my wall in my office) and this year I'm 2114.

Hmmm.  Let's see what I can come up with.

5+8+1=14.  14 is 2x7.  2 7s is 77, which is one number higher than my favorite jersey number.

The inverse of 581 is .00172 which is the same as 0.17%.  0.17% is roughly the same level of the US population that has tried a long-distance triathlon.

I called today, and the operator asked me if this number was posted on a website or something 'cause she was getting a lot of calls about bib numbers!!! Innocent me, acted dumb, and stated "I'm not sure?" Anyhow, the operator said that numbers will be posted on the website tomorrow (Friday).

    I am number 1882!

If she was good with Google, she could probably figure it out.  There can't be too many websites that would generate that kind of call traffic.

I didn't want to seem like an over-zealous racer so I had my husband call and get the number. I'm racer 870.

I'm number 637.  I left a voice mail with my name and phone number, not really ecpecting a return call but, Ann called me back within 1/2 an hour and was very nice.
