Veteran  241   Phoenix |  Subject: Is there are HRM/GPS watch....I am looking to get a watch that I can wear for open water swims that will tell me how far I have swam. Any suggestions? |

Plenty of people swim with their Garmins, often in a ziploc bag under their swim cap. But occasionally I hear of one who had it short out. Certainly not recommended by the manufacturer. |

Brent LOL...I guess that puts a whole new meaning on "Water resistant," especially since some of the lower model ones say down to 30 meters water resistant. That's like saying a tire is puncture resistant, but only if you don't actually drive on it.
