Comments:

Felt good on this. I took off and tried to keep up with the kid in front, then I settled in. Then came the I have to pee. I went twice before the race and said screw it, I will pee down my leg on the bike and wash off. I came around the corner before T! and there was the potta potty. So my first time includes a potty break :)
What would you do differently?:

Run faster
Transition 1
  • 00m 47s
Comments:

Wahts the first rule, make sure the bike is in a low gear. I cleaned and lube the bike the night before. So as I spun the wheel I did not shift back down and left the bike in the steepest gear on the drivetrain.
What would you do differently?:

Gear the bike for the start.

A couple of times I started to slow down,so I thought about it ans started cranking harder. I was 7 minutes faster at the 10 mile mark then I was at Hawk Island Tri
What would you do differently?:

This is where I bit it. The first lap was cool and I thought I had it. I looked at my watch as I started the second lap. I was right around 1:34. My legs felt good and I started to run harder. Made the first turn around the lake and felt a twang in my knee. BY the time I made it to the swim area I was slowing, by the cemetary I was walking. I hit Dixie Hwy and tried to stretch my leg on the light poles. Did some deep knee bends, hoping things would help and tried to run.
I was hobling around the mile water station, past the hostiple, up to the Funeral home. It was step and pull leg behind me. I was able to run a little just before going down the hill into the park.
At the hill I had to lean backwards and slowly go down the hill. This is when the TRI spirt hit, a young lady, ran up and asked if I was ok, she offered to let me lean on her to get to the finish. I thnked her and declined. Here she is racing and she was going to stop and help. I looked fer her afterwards to thank her, but could not find her.
I ran across the finish line with race staff asking If I was OK. I must have looked like sh(*

What would you do differently?:

Train more and learn more stretches for the ITB
Post race
Warm down:

Grab a towle wiht Ice and sta under a tree with Ice on my knee

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training and not stretching the ITB

Event comments:
