So, I looked through my Tivo coverage on about 5 channels, found triathlon in the description, and Tivo'd 20 hours worth of coverage to make sure I did not miss anything.  Tonight I settled down to watch it, and I found exactly 0 minutes of triathlon coverage in the recorded sessions.  Nice.  I guess I won't even bother with Taekwondo now.

Yeah, the local NBC station had it listed, but it was never shown. It's all online if you want to see it. Taekwondo MAY be on - they showed a little bit of it in the Athens games, at like 5 am. (I only know because I was doing tkd at the time and one of my instructors was actually competing for Trinidad/Tobago, so I got up to watch it)

I thought I was alone in thinking that the coverage on all the channels has been pretty one-dimensional...swimming, gymnastics, and bore-a$$ basketball on NBC; soccer on the other two, at least during human hours.

DVR'd 9 hours and couldn't wait to get home from work to watch it. Sure was "excited" to see 8 hours and 45 minutes of non-tri sports and a whole 15 minutes of tri before they went off air.

Same here - I actually DVR'd all the stated coverage and other places it could have been (after not getting the womens to record) and came up with bupkis!

I signed on tonight for the sole purpose of checking if I was the only one that DVR'd the entire olympic coverage just to get my feelings hurt when I watched it and it wasn't there! LOL

John called a few times from work to remind me to record it so he could check it out also, I rushed thru my morning run/swim to get home to start it up at 10 am, I forgot to set it before I left this morning :-(

However on a happier note, We done our first speedwork that is outlinned in our run program,Of couse John has been running a lot longer than me, But he is getting back from 2 knee surgeries, and still he done his speed work 1600M X 3 with 800m jogs in between at 8:55,But I was able to do mine in the presrcibed 10:40 per 1600M ! Yay! actually my best was 10:14!I have been training with him  for about 6 weeks now and when I started, "a" meaning 1-  15 minute mile was all I could do. We will be doing 9 miles saturday! and I made two laps in the pool today - without stopping, swimming like a real swimmer...LOL with my head in the water and breathing every 3rd stroke.I just learned that last Saturday. So I guess even though I missed the coverage, I still had a great day!

It looks like  the run program I printed off from runnersworld.com is really gonna work.

Gotta go get some sleep, We have bike training early in the am.

Yeah, I was pretty bummed that I didn't get to see triathlon on TV. I had written it in my calendar so I wouldn't forget to watch and then it wasn't on. In addition, I couldn't watch it online because my internet provider is not supported by nbc or something... not sure what that means, but they wouldn't let me watch it. I see there are various videos online now, so I will check those out.

I watched both Men's and Women's tris on USA. You can watch the whole things or recaps on the Internet at http://www.nbcolympics.com/triathlon/index.html

They had it covered on USA network in the mornings the following days after the race. Womens started late, so have from bike till end, but got everything for the guys.

Very disapointed on their coverage. Even though you all didn't miss much. We didn't do that well. 4th for the womens, and 7th for the guys. Kemper came in through again. Matty didn't do well at all.

I did watch both races online and I have to say that the guys race was the most intense. Did anyone else see that men's finish. That GBR guy really took off for that finish and left Simmon in the dust. Gomez didn't even podium. Great race.

Same here ... frustrated that after 20 hours nothing was recorded. Settled down with the computer to watch online. I guess it's better because there aren't any lame announcers.

We watched the men's tri live online 2 days ago. We completely missed the women's.

I'm not sure what it was but I did see the woman's triathlon.  It was pretty awesome, especially since it was my first time watching it.  (And still have yet to compete in my first tri)  Inspiring and brilliant, but wish they had shown more of it.  I know some people think that they're just running or biking, but there is some serious strategy going on and it's pretty neat to watch.  Sorry to all who couldn't watch it, is there anything online?

Yeah, that was a great finish. The commentators said that Whitfield started his kick too early, but I think it got him silver instead of nothing. It was cool to see someone win his first big race on the Olympic stage, though.

I was going by what nbcolympics.com had on their schedule--must have mis-read that it was to be on USA.

Yup, pretty much the case with almost all of the events I was interested in.

Even the ones that I wanted to watch that were covered, either had highlights or were interwoven into something that was not nearly as much fun to watch.

The thing that really bugs me is that every event had a video feed but they just chose not to air it anyplace. I did end up seeing the men's Tri on USA and got very lucky since the listings in my area did not mention it.

Maybe someone besides NBC will get the next Olympics and do a better job

Okay...so I'm not crazy.  I checked NBC several times this weekend b/c it was SUPPOSED to be on.  That's disappointing.

As somone said before, they did show the whole mens race Tuesday morning (8/19) from around 10am-12pm EDT on the USA network.

I agree with you all, but sadly the coverage is all about selling ad space, and people want to see 1,000 hours of gymnastics. diving, and swimming.

I don't mind the womens beach volleyball, great sport, great athletes, great uniforms....

I noticed that too.  What was even more frustrating, in the brief description of the content of the recording, it SAYS triathlon.  Fast forwarded through the whole thing, no triathlon.

Hey, at least you guys get the Olympics on TV. I have only been able to see if Weightlifting and Boxing - in Thai. I can not even get the NBC internet feeds as the greedy sponsors and USOC block internet access outside of the US!

I read in the newspaper that Phelps won some medals

Cheers.
