Pre-race routine:

I really didn't know if I was going to race this cause I didn't feel ready for it.
Event warmup:

Ran a couple of miles at a semi-fast pace
Swim
  • 20m 37s
  • 1250 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

I hadn't swam in a while and I didn't get a warm up but it went ok.
Transition 1
  • 01m 47s
Comments:

I was pretty dizzy after the swim. I haven't been training that issue much so I had trouble keeping my bearings out of the water. There isn't where to train in open water here in Steamboat but I should be able to fix that before Nationals. The water was really cold so that may have been part of it.
What would you do differently?:

Train to run after the swim more.
Bike
  • 53m 5s
  • 20 miles
  • 22.61 mile/hr
Comments:

My legs took a bit to get warmed up and they felt a little stiff but I finished stronger than I thought I would.
What would you do differently?:

I've slacked off on training a bit due to work and life in general so, not much.
Transition 2
  • 00m 53s
Comments:

I don't remember it so it must have been fast. This also included about a quarter mile run through transistion. I was on one end and the run start was on the other.
What would you do differently?:

not much
Run
  • 31m 51s
  • 4 miles
  • 07m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

I didn't get into a rythem until mile two. It turned out to be faster than I thought it would be.
What would you do differently?:

Run more
Post race
Warm down:

Un-eventful

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Time to train

Event comments:

This was a good race and a great venue. The only issue I have is the water, My allergies are in full effect. My head is completely clogged up and my eyes won't stop itching. There was a considerable amount of algea to deal with.

I was originally going to bail on the race but I'm glad I did it. I know I can do better than this but life is in caos right now so it is what it is!
