Overall Rank = 36/299
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 8/24
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5 and drank some coffee, ate cereal and a banana. Drank some water and a bottle of G2 while driving
Event warmup:

NONE
Swim
  • 05m 51s
  • 330 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

Overall, the swim was a huge disappointment. I was hoping for 5:00, last year was 5:10. I might have been thrown off by the guy next to me, he was slow and I was beating him pretty good, but overall just a bad swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Transition #1 was good. I tried to put my shirt on and it was a mistake, it got stuck on my back, so I had to throw it back off and it wasted some time. But last year T1 was 1:12, so improved. Without the shirt I think I could have been under a minute.
Bike
  • 31m 24s
  • 11 miles
  • 21.02 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 00m 34s
Comments:

The highlight of my race right here. This transition was great and was a 15 second improvement from last year. I struggled with the bike too, so it could have been a few seconds faster, but overall I was really happy with this.
Run
  • 22m 24s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a pleasant suprise actually. I thought this would be the worst part of my race, but I was only 4 sec./mile off of my pace from last year, so I only lost 9 seconds overall from a year before. Still not the best I am capable of, but I really am happy with this segment
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and ate some snickers, I am a fatass

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training

Event comments:

Overall with the training put forth, I think I did ok. I actually think I could have run faster, but I seriously thought that I was so far away from last year's time, I sort of gave up in the first 2 miles and didn't turn it on until the last mile. Next year will be better, gunning for under an hour, get back in the top 25!!

Avg=21 mph, Last year Avg=21.5, so again, a little discouraged by this. I felt pretty slow and I didn't try to over exert myself, I got passed by 2 people which is pretty bad. With my limited training and being 15 lbs. overweight, it's understandable but still disapointing
