Swim
Comments: The swim went pretty well (for me). Since I only had 4 swims all year including 1 OWS, I thought I did pretty well. What would you do differently?: Probably nothing. I finally remembered to pee before I got out of the water, so that saved me about a minute. Transition 1
Comments: It was fair at best. I wore a bike jersey rather than my usual North Face shirt, and the bike jersey stuck to my wet skin badly. What would you do differently?: If I'm going to wear a bike jersey for the bike, I'd wear it under my wetsuit. It took a long time to get dried off enough that I could get that shirt on. Or, don't wear a bike jersey. I think it was a good idea to put my bike shorts on, on top of my tri shorts. My new bike is tough on my boys. Bike
Comments: Having a bike with 9 gears in the back made getting up Old Stage a lot easier than my old bike which had 7. Again, not too bad considering I only had 2 bike rides of 20 miles or more for the year. What would you do differently?: Do more hill training. Every other week I'd add in some hard LT training to get my legs ready for the hills. Transition 2
Comments: Once again, having to pee slowed me down, but otherwise it was pretty good. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Because of a lack of long bricks, I was in pretty bad shape for the run. I walked through every aid station plus 2 other times. It was another warm, sunny day too. What would you do differently?: Train more. I also need to find a drink that doesn't hurt my stomach. The Acceleraid is good for the bike and for shorter runs, but on a 10k at the end of an Oly, it didn't go over too well with my belly. Post race
Warm down: Stop running. Get off my tired feet. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Event comments: I liked the race, I just didn't train enough for it. But that's OK. Last updated: 2008-08-28 12:00 AM

The usual - get up as late as possible, eat some cereal, drive up to Boulder, get unpacked and go. This year they handed out timing chips race morning and as a result, there was a HUGE line to get into transition. Because it took so long, they delayed the start of the race by 20 min so me and the rest of the people who get there late could get into transition.
None. I didn't know if I could finish the darn race and wasn't going to waste any energy before it even started! ;)
