Just like me to decide to get back into tri's at the end of the season.  I've been searching (obviously not in the right places) for events in the spring of next year.  I signed up for the Columbia Triathlon, but I haven't found anything else posted for next year.

Would anyone care to point me in the right direction?

 Thanks!

It's still early for most race organizers to publish their 2009 calendars.  Columbia Tri Assn is the exception.  What are you looking for?  Something before Columbia next spring?

Hi Stuart, nice to meet you.

Most races seem to try to stay at the same time each year. So, I've been doing early planning by looking at races from this year and then extrapolating them out to next year. Hopefully, around the turn of the year we'll be able to pin everything down.

Initially, I was looking for something before Columbia (preferably a sprint) and then I just started to look and didn't find anything else.  I'll check this years races and see what I can start to figure out. Thanks.

Keep at eye out for CGI racing events ... my guess is that most of the late spring/ early summer tris will be posted later this year (around November)

I did the Kinetic Sprint down in Lake Anna in mid April. The water was VERY cold!

Therein is the problem. The water was cold for Columbia last year, I can't imagine doing one locally that is any earlier that wouldn't have uncomfortably cold/colder water. I don't think there are any much earlier.

When is Columbia? There's the Little Pepper in mid May. I think I'm doing that instead of the Kinetic next year.

I'll echo what others have said, it is too early. Setup Events says they hope to have all their events through June `09 scheduled by mid-September. I'd suggest you check back in a couple of weeks, once the season starts to wind down I'm sure we'll be hearing more and more about next year.

And FYI, I'm also looking for a sprint prior to Columbia. The water will be cold but hopefully bearable...aside from water temp, did anyone have any issues with Kinetic? Wasn't the weather total crap this past year?

Total downpour the whole race, TA like a swamp. But otherwise, a good race I liked the bike and run routes and would definitely do it again next year if it weren't for the water temperature; I'm not sure I want to repeat that.

It was my first tri wearing a wetsuit. My body wasn't cold but I couldn't breathe when I put my face in the water. I've heard that this is quite common.
