It has been the recipe for all the multiple winners.  You build the team around the GC contendor.  When you don't you can't support him well enough.  Just look at Cadel Evans and Silence-Lotto as a prime example of that.  He had little to no support in the mountains, and paid for that with another loss.

What would Astana do with Contador? I can't imagine Contador being Lance's bike biotch. If Lance is coming back to win and Contador is in it to win they cannot be on the same team. It would not make sense for Astana to release the future superstar for Lance to come back for one last tour? My guess is Lance will end up with Team Columbia or Garmin Chipolte as Astana has no room at the Inn.

Columbia is moving to riding Scott and Garmin will be riding Felt again.  They have both confirmed that.

Wherever LA goes, so will Trek.  So either a team that has not committed to a bike manufacturer or to Astana.

His team has always had strong lieutenants on it.  If Bruyneel can convince Contador to go for the Giro again and even next year's Vuelta, then LA can focus on the big dance and the team can clean up like they have in the past.

I don't frankly care.  He put life into the sport of cycling, he beat cancer and is an incredible athlete.  I hope he starts his own Livestrong team (although it might be hard to get a TDF slot) and kicks everyone's butt.
