Sure glad I'm only doing IM Moo.  At least they keep tabs on the participants.

RememberOtto - 2008-09-10 6:41 AM Here is part of what was so scary: my friend is in law enforement and I assure you that local cops as well as some "higher up" agencies were very aware he was missing and were putting a good bit of effort into locating him.
.

Sounds like they were aware and looking for him.

Also, even though many of us are just trying to get to that finish line, ALL of us need to watch out for each other. During the race, I too, saw a wandering athelete and stopped to talk to him. This was on mile 18 of the run. His speech was slurred, he was not making rational sentences and he was alking as if drunk. There was an ambulance less than 1 block away with EMT's at the ready. I reported it and watched him get a ride. PLEASE, PLEASE watch out for each other!

After you pushed him down in the street and ran off yelling "One Spot Closer To Kona!!!"

Cuz I saw you do it.

That's crazy. I'm glad to hear that he's recovering. Yikes! I would consider using the buddy system for an Ironman if I new that getting lost was a risk.

Good gravy! Something to think about right there.

Thank goodness Mrs. Fatmouse doesn't read these threads. She'd never let me try this thing.

You mean to tell us that you want to be that guy who gets lost?

Nice one.

I'm glad that he's ok as well.

As far as the race course goes, my sense of reality must be skewed because I didn't think that that was "hood" at all. Not even close. The crackheads were even using complete sentences.

I'm sorry, but that's funny!

Seriously...That's a crazy story...so glad it looks like all is well.  Here's to a speedy recovery and good luck next time.
