Total Time = 2h 04m 54s
Overall Rank = 8/416
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 2/47
Pre-race routine:

Breakfast at the hotel with Pierre and other teammates. Went to the race site.
Event warmup:

Not much since we couldn't ride. Went for a 15 minute run with some accel. Ran along side with Yann that was doing the HIM for 5 minutes. That guy is fast!
Swim
  • 23m 13s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 33s / 100 meters
Comments:

Swim was good except for a few issues.
What would you do differently?:

Main issue is the fact I was dropped by the front pack because of the fact I had to stop threee times to get the water out my goggles. I was pissed at myself for not buying some new goggles. It happened in the last 3 races. My fault.

But once I "stopped stopping",I had a great swim and wasn't afraid to push.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Had a few problems getting the left leg out because of the chip. But overall good T1.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Bike
  • 1h 02m 44s
  • 40 kms
  • 38.26 km/hr
Comments:

Had a great bike portion. First lap was tough a bit but the legs came back pretty quickly.

Was passed by only 1 or 2 riders on the whole 40km. Felt very good and fast. New bike was awesome. Responsive and comfortable. The fit was good, a lot lower than before because the LBS cut it lower because of security issues.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Less water or Cytomax. I had stomach issues for the first 2-3kms on the run.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Good T2.
Run
  • 38m 58s
  • 10 kms
  • 03m 54s  min/km
Comments:

Had a pretty strong run. Got passed once by someone racing the relay. Couldn't keep his pace.

I was happy with my run considering the fast bike portion I had.
What would you do differently?:

Train more.
Post race
Warm down:

Stopped for 30 minutes to talk with my fan club. So much people. It was great to have people cheering while being in the redzone for 5km.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much, some injuries throughout the year that kept me from running more.

Event comments:

Only negative thing is the fact you have to do 9 laps around the circuit, and it's VERY easy to forget how much you rode... My friend Pierre did one lap extra. Not good for his ranking.
