Subject: RE: Looking for 70.3 IM Are you looking for a good HIM or does it have to be IM branded 70.3 race?
Plenty of good independents out there and usually not as crowded or as expensive as 70.3 races.
I enjoyed the Muncie Endurathon (longest running HIM in the country ), but I also considered the Mussleman in the Finger Lakes region of New York, and Pigman in Iowa. All three have had good race reports written about them and sound real well run. As does Redman in OKC.
I found Steelhead 70.3 was run well, but I think it's a little ridiculous that they run this with 2500 athletes and just prefer races that aren't that busy or packed, especially on the bike course.
Knowing your preference on areas of the country you may want to travel to, or keeping things close to home for you, time of year may help folks comment better.
