tridawg72 - 2008-10-28 2:53 PM I booked  my room at the Courtyard by marriot. It was expensive at $179 per night

wow that's better than the few I was looking at... they were over 250 a night

Ouch. Lonestar it is. Closer to me, so even if the hotel rooms are priced the same, it's still going to be cheaper.

I just booked the Courtyard as well, rate was $139. I was thrilled. I was definitely expecting the hotel to be a much bigger setback. Looking forward to meeting everyone there!

I'm in.  I grew up in Metairie and my whole family is still there.  I got to drive the bike course this summer because i was concerned about how rough the roads are but it only looked sketchy in a few place.  I have the best rate there.  I am staying in Kenner with my folks.  It's a little drive but it is free!!!

Good luck training.

Just signed up! In case anyone needs is looking for a cheap hotel room I just booked the Hilton Garden Inn for $66 a night! Its less than half a mile from the bus pick up and, more importantly, close to bars.
