I have been invited to serve as a guide/partner to a blind person who will be doing her first (sprint distance) triathlon next summer. She's an incredible lady - 65 years old - with many marathons to her credit and plenty of experience as a cyclist on a tandem. Swimming though is new to her.

Any advice from BT-ers who have experience serving as guides? In particular, how did you deal with the OWS swim portion?

That's really cool! Congratulations on getting picked to do that.

Don't have have some training on how to help her on the course? How to help with the swim?

Have you hit up YouTube to see if there are any videos of blind triathletes competing?

I have absolutely no idea, but I am curious how she navigates on the bike and on the run.  How is this accomplished?
