Pre-race routine:

Arrived early! Checked bike tires, gears, computer, etc. Checked HRM. Started setting up transition area. Chatted with friends and talked with other participants.

Ran about 1/2 mile around transition area and to car and back.

Comments:

Great siting around the buoys because they were easy to see. The finish was difficult to see as it was a single red flag on the shore with people standing around it.
What would you do differently?:

Site better. Sprint in the middle a bit more.

Felt good about my overall transition except someone scooted my bike over so they could have the end while we were out in pre-race briefing. Fortunately, I quickly noticed my bike was right next to where I had left it.

I was having trouble with my middle ratio gears (2 & 6) so I stayed in a lower gear, thus whipping up my cadence. I was anticipating the big hill around every corner after the half way point.
What would you do differently?:

Pushed the gears a little more. Pushed myself a little harder.

The course was very hilly, small but steep, and I wasn't expecting it.

Not walk at all (I took 10 steps).

My bike and acknowledging the burn.

Event comments:

Good little race! Fun because it isn't so big. Fun raffle and give away prizes afterward! Definitely want to stay for this ceremony!
