So I hit a goal of mine today that I didn't think I would achieve for another 3-4 months. I ran a sub 7 minute/mile. To make a long story short, it got me thinking back to when I first started training 7 months ago and how I was struggling to break a 10 minute/mile.

What are some recent goals you've hit that made you stop and realize just how far you've come?

Awesome job on your Sub-7 minute mile. Keep up the training and it won't be long before your able to hold that pace in a race

Last night I was feeling great after an easy 3.4 miles - on my 3rd 1.7 mile loop and decided to push it a bit, and hit a sub-7:30 pace for the first time on that loop - had a PR split by 0:29 seconds.  And I was only pushing it maybe 85% overall.

Good to see the gains are still coming, as I was starting to feel like I had hit my first plateau.  It's kind of hard to tell if you don't bust out a tempo run every now and then to check your progress.    Great feeling....

(For reference: 2 months ago I couldn't run a mile without walking).

Way to go!! My big goal recently accomplished was my first ever half marathon. I came in at 2:08...not super speedy to be sure but well above my goal time of 2:15. That made me feel like I just might become a runner someday.......

Congrats!

It's been a couple years for me and I haven't broken 7 (haven't done a 1 mile test though, sounds painful )
