Subject: Inside Knee Pain - Cannot run on itThis is a problem - I am 4 weeks out from Marine Corps Marathon (and yes, I am going to see about transferring my bib or deferring until next year, depending on the time limits). I have had some ITB issues on my right side, but stretching and rolling, etc have seemed to take care of that pretty well. Last Friday (the 19th) I went for my 18-miler. Halfway through, my LEFT knee started to hurt and then very quickly started to be VERY painful. I had to hobble/walk the majority of the way back. Didn't run on it again until Thursday - only ran for about 40 minutes. Ran again on Friday for about 50 minutes, but it started to hurt again, and then it hurt mildly for the rest of the evening - since then, it has hurt slightly when I walk (in flat shoes). I got a new pair of running shoes, thinking they were just worn out (had about 250 miles on them) and started out fr 14 miles today - I was able to do 3. With a knee brace, even. It still hurt so much that I had to stop. It's on the INSIDE of my left knee, not the front (patellar tendon) or the side (ITB), the inside edge of my knee. I was running on a flat trail, though there were lots of small rocks in the ground. I didn't trip or fall or anything. It just started to hurt all of a sudden. I am going to try to see a specialist as soon as humanly possible, but I have an HMO, so it'll take a week to get a referral. I am obviously going to consult a medical professional for a real diagnosis, but I am just curious if other people have experienced this and what it ended up being/what ended up happening. I have not had ANY problems in my left knee before. Edited by wurkit_gurl 2008-09-28 3:06 PM
