Subject: Just startingI am very new to tris and am in the beginning stages of training for several tris for 2009 (1st - International dis, 2nd - Xterra, 3rd - Sprint, 4th - IM Augusta 70.3 ). I plan to follow the training plans shown on BT. During the past month, I have been doing one of the three areas for a six day period with one full day off to build a base. Occassionally, after a bike, I throw in a slow 1/2 mile run. All of this is in a gym (pool, stationary bike (or spin class ), and tm. I am in there to build a base and work on form. Once I feel comfortable (in a month or so ), I will take everything (with the exception of the swim ) outside. While doing these, I am mostly looking at time as opposed to distances. Am I starting the right way before I just right into the program? I guess I am calling this my acclimation stage. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. |
