Event warmup:

Just realized that I hadn't filled out a race report for this race back in July....

Did a warm-up run for about 15 minutes, including a few strides. Then, put on the wetsuit and headed to the swim start.
Swim
  • 05m 40s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim felt good, though I was sucking wind when I got out of the water. On my way out of the water, said hello to Matt from Fleet Feet who was getting out of the water at the same time (and who I'd just bought my BodyGlide from the day before). I think the swim may have been a little shorter than a 1/4 mile.
What would you do differently?:

Not much
Transition 1
  • 02m 19s
Comments:

Wetsuit got stuck on the timing chip and on my heel, so I had to sit down and pull it off. Probably not enough practicing transitions.
What would you do differently?:

More BodyGlide and practicing transitions.
Bike
  • 43m 10s
  • 15 miles
  • 20.85 mile/hr
Comments:

My lungs felt fine, but my legs were burning after a few miles. I definitely hadn't spent enough time on the bike beforehand as I would have liked and it showed.
What would you do differently?:

More time in the saddle.
Transition 2
  • 01m 27s
Run
  • 21m 16s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

Due to injuries and other commitments, I hadn't done many bricks or fast runs and I felt it. From the beginning until mile 2, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep running, but I just kept talking myself through the next 100 feet, and so on until the end was in sight.
What would you do differently?:

Hopefully be able to doing more faster paced running in training (and not get injured).
Post race
Warm down:

Tried to keep myself from throwing up while a volunteer removed the timing chip.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wasn't been able to train consistently beforehand due to a number of factors.

Event comments:

Nice small (and fairly flat) race with a lot of friendly people.
