Run
Comments: I did my inhaler a couple times. Dick and Rick Hoyt showed up..they had all the wheelchair athletes (lots of two person teams maybe 7?)start in the front which blocked everyone in. Then every made a wrong turn..it was strange. I found my pace and just kept going. I felt okay breathing wise, pushing as hard as I could. Mind was pretty good with only a couple negative thoughts here and there. Testing when I'm slow is a struggle at times for me less running than cycling as I've seen how fast I can lose run speed but I know it will come back. Marianne was slowly making the gap between us farther...from our runs together lately I know she is faster than I am. Tried picking up the pace last mile..more effort but not faster. Pushed hard to finish. Mile 1 9:16 Mile 2 9:40 Mile 3 9:51 Last .16 1:17 or 8:10 m/m...sweet! What would you do differently?: I think I did the best I could today given my fitness..it was fun running with Marianne...we will do more of these...great workout. Post race
Warm down: Walked a bit, gabbed, stretched my calves and hamstrings, drank water We should have stayed as Marianne won her AG...sweet! and set a PB!!! Say congrats if you want http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.... What limited your ability to perform faster: Fitness Event comments: Sponsored by a branch of my Y. They had fun things for kids to do if one parent did the race. Good cause! Last updated: 2008-10-01 12:00 AM
