I finished my first 70.3 at the Longhorn Half Ironman in Austin yesterday. Great race! I highly recommend it! The bike was much easier than I expected, although the run really kicked my . A lot of hills on the run course. But I finished in 6:50. Slow, but not bad for a whimp like me!

Great job! A HIM is a hard thing. Now I'll have to go find the RR.

Congrats!  You should write a race report,  I'd like to hear all the details.  I'm considering this race for next year.

The bike was easier than you expected? I expected some hills - - but parts were tough with the wind and the hills.  The run was an a$$ kicker though.

Great job!  Sorry we didn't get to see one another out there.

x2 of this being a great event - - I also recommend it.  Tons of volunteers directing bike traffic and 4 aid stations on the bike. Everything you needed was available at the run aid stations (8 of them on the course x 2 loops= 16 aid stations...almost every 1/2 mile). No need for a fuel belt.
