You could also wear an old long sleeve tee and drop it off right before the start. I did that last year but forgot to pick it up after ( it was sooooo cold last year). You could also discard it after a couple of miles when you warm up in one of the trash cans they have set up next to the course. If you're doing the half it should be warmed up enough to make it to the start at 7:45 without freezing (sunrise is @ 6:48)

Short answer: I'd go with short sleeves.

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking short sleeved shirt and arm warmers. Back up plan is tank top with long sleeve tee over that I can tie around my waist if I get hot. See you all there (hopefully)!

I will be the silver haired guy limping along. Say "hi" as you pass me :-)

Well, we will probably be keeping pace and I will be running as fast as I can.  Actually, I do a three minute run-one minute walk routine. All I want is to make it in under three hours.  If anyone wants to say "hi" to me, that would be great.  I will be in the 8:02 wave and am a middle-aged woman wearing clothes similar to everyone else.  I do have blue fingernails, however.  My one distinguishing characteristic.

Have a great race everyone!

Shoot, I guess I should have checked here for a thread much earlier. I was down in HB around lunch time today picking up my pack. I'm still not sure if I'm going to go out tomorrow morning or not because I've had a horrible cold/sinus infection all week. I've still got some residual coughing/hacking up of lungs going on, so it will all depend on how I'm feeling in the morning.

If I am able to make it out, I'm doing the 5k. If not, I hope everyone has a great race tomorrow!!!

Here's my bib number:

Hi everyone. What a blast today was! The morning shuttle logistics totally sucked, but the race rocked (PR baby!) and the post race beach party/beer garden ROCKED! I hope everyone else had a great day as well!

WTG on the PR, J! I ended up not heading out this morning since I'm still not feeling 100%. Glad to hear the weather was better today than it was for us last year!

Well i got in there early 5:30  and parked on side road 2 blocks from the Start

Had a little trouble locating the bag drop off , I had past  it early but thought i was a day off packet pickup.   Duh!

Marathon went off in 2 waves which was good idea .  After an hour of running and settling into a nice pace .   Must say i did not enjoy merging with the  Large  hard charging Half traffic ,  it felt the running equivalent  of   merging onto the 405  after an hour driving  on a scenic country lane.

Doing the beach loop along the same shoreline  a second time was the most challenging part for me today .

Despite this  it was good day to run,  weather was perfect  ,  I  PR  the distance  and i am nowhere as beat up as the first time i ran the Marathon.

All in all a cool  well organized winter race .

Does beer count? That was free! The only free food I found was granola and fig newtons so I plunked down 4 bucks for a good hot dog. The coffee was free...and GOOD!
