Our local guy, Milos, just crossed the finish line....now I can go to bed! What an exciting event, I wish I was there....I am thinking maybe I can sneak in the training for another ironman for 2009...will my family notice? hahahha.

Just woke back up -- have a half marathon race this am! What a way to get fired up for the race. Watching the finishers!

Oldest woman just crossed....Chrissie W gave her the lei. Class.

I woke up at 500am to watch...was really tired from training yesterday. Have to do a 20 mile run today. Since I am pushing the cut off times for Ironman Florida, it was really important for me to watch the final finishers!! Boy..Im definitely pumped to go do my workout now Incredible race..incredible finishes...and Chrissie Wellington is an amazing lady

This year’s Timex Ironman Watch Bonuses, totaling $20,000, were awarded to:

Bike – Torbjorn Sindballe and Chrissie Wellington
Run – Normann Stadler and Chrissie Wellington   Why does Norman get a watch for the run?

In addition to a highly competitive professional field, a variety of inspirational age group athletes competed including Major League Baseball veteran, Jeff Conine, with a time of 14:43:45, and Sean Swarner, a two-time cancer survivor with one lung, who crossed the line at 11:44:15. In addition, Keith Davids, Commanding Officer of Navy SEAL Team One, completed the event in 11:24:00.
