Subject: RE: Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLThanks for comments... The stock wheels that came with Bike (Shimano Aero 500 )are not the best and upgrade definately needed. I really do not care what I train with, but would be nice to have versatile wheel. I am not expecting huge speed gains, but stiffer tire, better aerodynamics etc are hopes of eith making my current avg. over HIM course of 20mph either a lesser effort or even better, get it up to 21-22mph. I realize engine is biggest factor, but to shell out over $1k for wheels, I do have expectations of improvement.
From the feedback so far, I am not getting great feeling that my expecations are going to be met from these wheels. They do also have Jet 60/90 combo available for $1,200, but I had heard more issues with those wheels in the long run than the Mavics mentioned. Espeically in the Salt air I ride in along the beach roads here in South Florida.
