Crap. I was worried about this happening to mine (see my new bike thread), so I left it too long.

What is it made out of? Carbon? Aluminum? Not that I know if that will make a difference. Sorry.

First reaction: SOL

Second thoughts ask: how much too short? If only a few mm, then maybe a stem swap for one with a shorter stack/clamping surface? 

Carbon or aluminum?

several inches... i had it cut a my LBS and there was a misunderstanding on both are parts so i really can't blame them. So if any has or knows where i can get a cheap 1" 700c fork please let me know..

1" or 1-1/8"??  How much steer tube length do you need?

I have the one that came with my Scott (I replaced it with a lighter Ritchey one).  1-1/8" carbon, threadless.  It is off of a 58cm frame.

I also found a riser attachment. I have no idea how / if it works, but such a thing is available.

thanks! i've never heard/Seen those before, but it would definitely be worth a shot a lot cheaper than a new $300.00 fork...
