Subject: RE: Bike Barn in Groton?Been out of buisness for about 4 years now. The owner always was an a-hole. My friend renter the apartment above the shop and got phone calls about moving his car out of the parking area. He lived there! Duh!
He owns a sister derelict shop in Niantic called Life cycles on Hope St. Steve Morrisey tried buying both businesses (then later, he opened Niantic Bay Bicycles ) and the owner screwed around with the terms of the deal. I know that the owner was dying from complications of diabetes, but he still was an a-hole when it came to business dealings. The shop last I saw it was full fo Jamis and Raliegh bikes and likely still is.
I was riding one morning through Bulff Pt. and broke a chain which fell into a mud abyss. I walked the bike to Bike Barn, called them andf they fixed it. I showed up later that day and they slapped a sticker on my bike. I said, "What's that on there for?" They said they are supposed to put one on every bike they repair as well as sell. Thanks...
