Comments: Started out pretty smooth, just kind of took a little while to find my 'pace'. Settled into a good groove after about 1.5 miles. The pack spread out quickly so there wasn't much company out there, just the views out over the marshes and river. Got to the turnaround and it was nice to see the folks coming in the opposite direction for giving/getting encouragement. The second time up over the causeway (miles 2.5 and 7.5) I could tell I was getting tired and I was fighting to hold pace. My splits were pretty even throughout though so I think I did a good job of pacing this race. What would you do differently?: Nothing specifically. Do more speed/tempo training if I was focused on this kind of a race at the moment. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of focus since the end of tri season. Alas, I expected that. Event comments: Great course. Probably can't find a nicer course for a 10 miler than this actually. Race organization was top notch and timely. Last updated: 2008-09-08 12:00 AM
