Subject: RE: Race with a purpose??If you have a cause and desire to raise money for Absolutely you should. I raised $3,000 through Janus Charity Challenge at Ironman Lake Placid in July. I believe that it made the experience of the race a much better experience. I don't believe Janus handles Half Ironman races, but I know many people raise money during those races, such as team in training. I think the first thing you need to do is approach the charity you wish to raise money for. I realize you have a charity in mind already. But take a look at Jon Blais's website. They will set you up with a web page for fundraising. http://www.waronals.com/team_blazeman.php there is a way to set up your own page on there. That makes it alot easier to raise money. More than half of my $3,000 was donated online, alot by people whom I have never met. What ever you decide, I wish you the best of luck in the race and in your fundraising.
