Subject: Anyone out there in the North Carolina Outer Banks?

I haven't been able to find it under the RACE tab, but apparently there is a sprint triathlon (750 meter ocean swim, 12 mile bike, 5k run) in Emerald Isle, NC this weekend.   Apparently, it is USAT certified, and I was wondering:

Is anyone racing it?

Has anyone raced it in the past?  (I think the distances have changed from past years.)

If you are racing it, could you let me know how the event goes? 

A large group of us (10+) are planning on doing it next year as a combination vacation/long term goal.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I raced it last year and the swim was cancelled due to inclement weather and high winds. They couldn't get the swim bouys to hold so they ran a duathon. The weird thing was that they started with the run and ended with bike. I liked the race and the crowd was pretty good. Alot of locals do this race and its starting to get more popular, as are many of the beach destination races.
