Comments: So I went out comfortable and that equaled to a 5:59 first mile, which was fine and what I wanted to do. Even though I rode a hard 75 mile ride the day before. I wanted to go out at my target, fresh legs pace, I mean you never know what could happen. I didn't make a effort to keep that pace, I was just trying to stay comfortable. Which I did through the 10k mark, which was my plan. By the 10k mark I was a bit off 6min pace, maybe 6:12 pace by then. I had predicted I would run a 6:15 pace, considering the ride the day before and the last 3 weeks of training. At the 10k mark I thought that was still going to happen. I'm not sure what happened, but a bit after mile 7, My legs just suddenly ran out of gas and mile 7.5-9 were way, way slow. I recovered a bit, but mentally I was out of it and didn't really bother lifting the pace back up over the last mile. A friend about 500m from the finish was yelling at me, I replied a few things. He later came up and said, I could tell you had eased up somewhere you were talking too easly for it being a end of a 10 miler. Worse race perfomance of the year! :) What would you do differently?: Meh, probably nothing. It was just a training run. Sure I would of liked not blowing up towards the end, so I suppose a bit slower pace at the start may of helped. But I did what I planned on doing, I just didn't expect to go from good to bad so quickly. Post race
Warm down: Eat pizza and then run back to the house with side stiches! What limited your ability to perform faster: Worn out from training, but that was the idea! :) Last updated: 2008-10-15 12:00 AM

Woke up ate a Banana and a cliff bar. Since the race is about 1.5 miles from my house, at 6:30 I ran to the race start. :)
