Subject: Good Tri Watch for under $50

I need a watch.

I have ADD and my watch died and that is bad.

I got a cheap target watch for $10 but I can't wear it in the shower or pool, which means I take it off and forget to put it back on.  So I go around without a watch and never know what time it is.

My cell phone has a clock on it, but if it turn it on, I forget to turn it off and the battery goes dead and I walk around with a dead cell phone for two weeks.  It also has a countdown timer that I could use for intervals as long as I only did one interval.  Though I don't think it would be smart to carry my cell phone into the pool.

I need a decent watch that I can swim it, that has a good stopwatch and that I can use for interval training.  Timex makes a zillion "iron man" watches, but are the Casio any better or worse?

Also, is any 100m water resistant watch as good as any other?

Crap!  I need to get home. I'm late!

I got my Sports Instrument EGC5 on Ebay for about $55. It's a heart rate monitor, but I wear the watch more often than not.

I know people who swear by their Reebok HR monitors. And others who swear by their Polar HR monitors. Both of those have versions that are around $50 too.

I went to http://www.campmor.com and got a $14.97 Timex Triathlon watch. I LOVE it. I can wear it swimming, I track laps with it and it does a million amazing things. My only change would be to get one that had more than a 30 lap memory.

I have a timex ironman watch, which was somewhere between $30-$50 (i think). It has a 50 lap counter, alarms, and two intervals. i even push the button under water to count my laps, (i've heard from others here that that is not a good practice as water may get into the button area). Its a great watch for training short of being a heart rate monitor.
