Comments:

Went out a little slow (actually around target pace) - I was just shooting for under 1:25. After 4 miles in, I decided to try to pick it up to cushion ofr th elast half knowing it was hilly. I joined in with a larger group of college runners from Wabash who were doing the whole marathon togeth at about 6:25-6:30 pace. I cruised with them for a couple of miles then it got a bit congested and I felt them falling off pace. I made a little push and left them running 6:10, 6:11, 6:17 heading into the park. I held good splits other than the 6:40 that had the long hill. Left calf was cramping but managed it for the last 4 miles or so.

To be honest, I probably could have picked it up a bit after the park. I ran along comfortably but knew I wasn't pushing all out. Probably could have been in the 1:22's but extremely happy as is.
What would you do differently?:

Overall very happy, found a good pace and held it. Negative split by a few seconds, which is pretty good considering how hilly the second half was.
Post race
Warm down:

jogged a little didn't measure it

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Left calf cramping. My aerobics were very good. I think tris have really helped me there. My leg strength is probably my limiter right now. I think I can really improve my run with more focus. Thinking about a fast winter marathon or half.

Event comments:

If not doing a whole marathon, this is a great race for the fall.

Fantastic race.  Those splits are great.  Nice job picking up the effort in the later stages of the course.

Real nice race.  At your skill level I am not sure if it was "real nice" or just "good", but I sure wish I could run like that (but never will if I don't start runninga again.).

I hope you can get around 1:30 or so during your HIM.  Is that reasonable?
