Overall Rank = 142/538

Age Group Rank = 8/17
Pre-race routine:

Good night sleep, chicken breast and rice the night before. Race caps, Heed and Hammer Gel.
Event warmup:

Did about 4 laps in the small pool, this seemed to really help me out during the swim. Light stretching.
Swim
  • 04m 42s
  • 250 yards
  • 01m 53s / 100 yards
Comments:

Very comfortable swim, started to do flips on the first turn, but I get a better send off under the ropes by just pushing off the wall.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 02m 21s
Comments:

Pretty good T1 for me.
What would you do differently?:

Don't dry off to get the shirt on.
Bike
  • 34m
  • 10 miles
  • 17.65 mile/hr
Comments:

Good biking today, very comfortable, pushed myself about as hard as I could. One hill was very steep.
What would you do differently?:

Get in some more biking before the event.
Transition 2
  • 01m 53s
Comments:

Transitions are improving, not where I want them to be.
Run
  • 29m 23s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

Running is now my weak area, where before it was an area I was okay in. Need to get my times down to 26 minutes per 3 miles.
What would you do differently?:

With the PF behind me I still plan to take it easy for the next month or so. I really need to pick up the pace, but not mess up my heel again.
Post race
Warm down:

Just walked around after the race, ate a banana and stayed hydgrated.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The recovery of my PF.

Event comments:

This race was well organized, especially for its first event. Short course, but was a challenge with all the hills. Will definitely do it again next year.

Glad to hear so many great comments about the race!  The organizers are good friends and I know they worked really hard to make it a great event!!  Good job out there in the chilly morning air!!!

I have only 3 Sprint Triathlons and this was one I was most prepared for so far, other than the running. This event was well run, especially with it being its first. Next year I predict you will want to register very early, like the MAP, Latte, and Norman.
