Hello all,

I ran my first Olympic Tri this past weekend. Had on ok time of it, but got some very negative treatment from some of the other athletes.

So I pulled out my TEAM CLYESDALE shirt and wore it with PRIDE......

As for running, I have dropped down from aroudn 263 to about 205-210.....having a hard time getting below that.

Anyway, everyone have a great day.........

Congrats on the OLY! WOOOHOOO!
As for the unfun people that give looks, well you know. I have a shirt I wear that says "it's a clydesdale thing, you wouldn't understand", but I know everyone here gets it and that's enoungh. They're jealous because of low self image .

It is weird, the sprints i have done, i have spoken with the guys who were top 5 overall and they were super nice and make me feel very comfortable and offered lots of words of encouragement, one guy who finished 2nd overall was an ex Clyde when he started and was way cool to talk to. Then i hear about the longer distances and the reaction big guys and gals like us get and it makes me start to wonder, maybe they are just afraid to have me go trucking past them on the bike or are a little miffed to think that for a big guy i swim pretty well, considering the water i have to displace and energy i have to use compared to them, so thier natural reaction is to make comments or to give looks, because they are a little insecure in their own skin.

That being said, their are probably alot more nice people than tools with self image issues and when i do my first two OLY's next year i will try to focus on the cool cats and not worry about skinny boy with an image issue.
