Pre-race routine:

Race was at least an hour away (at normal speeds) and started at 7:45. Ate oatmeal and had some coffee. Drank water/ powerade mix enroute.
Event warmup:

After waiting in line forever to use bathroom, I stretched some and headed out to the start area.

Comments:

Came out strong and feeling good. Was strong through the first three miles and just after mile 4 my knee wanted to hurt again. I had to throttle back but still tried to talk myself out of it being too bad. Eventually I did have to walk some and the mental stress was only making it worse.
It was a good run and I liked the course. I will look for it again next year.
What would you do differently?:

More training at Race Pace.
Post race
Warm down:

Disappointed that I felt good but my knee wouldn't allow me to let it go. Walked around and just wanted to leave.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My knee.

Event comments:

This is a point-to-point race. You parked at the finsh area and were shuttled to the start.

There were only two water stations on the course and they had little plastic cups, not paper.

I hope your knee thing gets resolved.  Good job of working through the pain.
