Las Vegas Marathon

Have not done it, but have heard from others that it is pretty flat.  The website has an elevation chart and actually a video, if you are truly bored.

My friend who has done it the last 3 years said, that it is slightly downhill through the strip and out (about 5-6 miles), then slightly uphill for about 7-8 miles, but not hugely noticeable.  Says he had to increase effort to keep same pace, but not huge climbing.  And then slightly downhill coming back.

He added that it was windy 2 of 3 years.

You going to go to the Pasta dinner?

 x2 on the possiblity of winds.  My wife has been in this even a few times.   In 2003 the route was straight north from Jean for the majority of the run and there was a good 25+mph headwind the whole way. 

They don't use that route any more, the Last 3 years have been the "New" LV Marathon... you run up the strip now.

BTW, here is the info on the Pasta Party, I think the wife and I will hit up.  Sounds kind of gimmicky, but WTF?

Not going to Pasta dinner.    I ran the last of the old course Marathons from Jean to some park in Las Vegas.   First 9 miles were a slight climb (barely noticable) though the wind was bothersome.

So this is my first time running up the strip and around LV proper.  Should be fun.

Everyone starts at the same time... runs up the strip, then there's a split downtown...

BE CAREFUL at the split... many people missed it last year and went the wrong way!
