Holy F....  It's race week.  It didn't really dawn on me until I looked at my schedule for this week.  But, for once, I think I'm ready.

Solid last two swim and run workouts late last week.  And am actually feeling confident in my run (we will see how well placed that will be). :P

    My schedule:

Drive down Thursday and stay with a friends Aunt in Clearwater.
Check into the Chart House Suites on Friday
    Check out on Monday.

I wish you all luck and wish I was racing too but someone has to stop traffic and that's my job this year. I will be on post somewhere along McMullen Booth Road so for the right price I can detain whoever you might be ahead in the AG. If there is anything I can assist with while you are in town, other than bail money, feel free to call. 727-744-1737.

I do appreciate you stopping traffic!  that is vital in my opinion.  I'll give you $10 and Bryan's bike if you stop anyone in front of me that doesn't have a 'P' on their calf.  :P

Note:  You'll have to get Bryan's bike from him on course.

I'm in too!  This should be interesting, in contrast to Steelhead, this time I have to swim.  Definitely getting nervous as I am new to this sport.  Hope I remember everything.  Have all of those questions going through my head about whether or not I have trained adequately, where my biking really is since the last month's weather was not the best and I did much of my training on a trainer etc. etc.  I am going there to have fun and do my best - should be a PR since this will be my first real HIM.Smile

It's down to 30%, which means it will be cloudy. I've had crappy weather this whole season:
Kansas- Tornado warnings ruined the end of the race
Musselman- Rain on the bike and downpours on the run
Steelhead- High winds causing huge waves, no swim

Thunderstorms would round out the end of the season quite nicely!

As an IM MOO Veteran, I use www.weatherunderground because they have 'rosier' forecasts.  They are calling for 20% chance in the afternoon.  I'll be done by then and drinking beer.  ;P

BUT,  just in case...I say Jazz w/ #'s stays HOME.  Don't want you brining crappy weather with you.  Nancy is going to be really mad if you ruin her Beach time.  Just sayin...

I'll give you $30, a bike, and a helmet if you get the Georgia Highway Patrol to bust Dan on his way down on some trumped up traveling with too many gels charge!

The Eagle has landed! I'm in Clearwater. Kind of like Kona with a lot of posers running and ridding too much...almost as scary fit as the Kona crowd...but not quiet.

Welcome to my neighborhood. Please remember not to "come on vacation and leave on probation". I hope you enjoy what the area has to offer and kick a$$ this weekend.

Course shouldn't be too bad. We have provided 90 deputies to work intersections in the county area and Clearwater police are working their roads just don't ask any which way to go you might get bad directions.

Nice thing about Florida roads are they are flat and pretty fast. i bike McMullen Booth/East Lake Road all the time. The roads in Pinellas County have several names for the same road that's what gets confusing.

    Good luck!
