Pre-race routine:

Arrived at the start location at 6:30am so Loni and Erika could run 5 miles before the race in order for them to do a total of 18 for the day. Relaxed in the car while they did their run.
Event warmup:

Did a 15 minute warm up run at about 7:20.

Comments:

I PR'd which was my goal but still pretty exciting since this is a hilly course. My previous PR was earlier this year on a flat course so that also makes this PR just that much sweeter:) The final 3 miles were tough with all the climbing.
What would you do differently?:

I went out fast since the first mile or two are down hill but I don't regret that decision since I think you should gain time when ever possible as long as it is not going to kill you later in the race. I think I should have drank more throughout the race, I think that is the only thing I need to do differently going forward.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank, walked around, and a little stretching while I waited for Loni and Erika to finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure. Had a really good race and PR'd so I really don't know if there was anything I could have done to go faster.

Course: Hilly! The first 6 miles consisted of mostly rollers. After that there is a pretty steep hill as you climb Hazel Avenue then flat for a mile or two then a long gradual slope. The final 3 miles have a number of steep short climbs with an up hill finish. Overall a relatively tough course.
