FYI, race date is Oct 18, 2009....2 weeks later than this year, should be cooler

Does this race usually sell out quick? or can I afford to wait until mid summer to decide to sign up?

This past year, it sold out in early August. I'd guess it'll be MUCH faster this year, but don't know for sure

Same weekend as Texas-OU weekend in Dallas. You think that'll hurt participation and/or availability of volunteers?

I'd doubt it....We'll probably get a big screen, and have it set up for everyone to watch on Saturday.

We were forced to move, as Austin City Limits moved to Oct 3-5 weekend for next year. Unless you'd prefer to have no hotel rooms, no porta potties, no tents, no police, etc at the race we really didn't have a choice

The later date is good for the race, as it'll be cooler temps for all....

Eh . . . just curious. You know how rabid the football fans are here. I'd choose one of your races over the Red River Shootout any day, but then, I'm indifferent to both teams.

As long as you aren't in Dallas for the game, you can watch it...The game is on SATURDAY, with race on Sunday.
I'm sure I'd also grant race day packet pickup to those folks attending the game

If I decide to take the plunge and sign up that would be paramount

Keith, speaking of packets: can you put in a label or bag of some sort to denote the special needs bag next year? I never saw anything about that in the packet but saw there was a spot for special needs bags on the run. It would be very handy to have that info in the packet somewhere.

yup, can do. They had them to hand out at packet pickup, with labels already on them. Instructions were placed in the special needs bag.

Of course, if you didn't pick one up, you probably didn't know what to do with it

Yea, I never got anything like that at packet pickup at all. I got everything else, but that part was nowhere to be found.

Didn't affect me any, but I also did not get any special needs bag or info. No complaints, just info to use for the next LH.
