I just ordered the Kurt Kinetic Fluid Road Trainer last week and will be using it for the first time tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. Here's a review about it:

Part of your decision depends on how much money you want to spend. The Cycle Ops trainers are great but a little expensive. (unless you do find it on sale like you have) I have this trainer from Performance and have been happy with it, I actually paid $149 when it was on sale. I've used it 2 winters, will use it this winter, and haven't had any problems. It's affordable, quiet and (so far) durable.

I have this one too and generally agree with Mindy (other than the quiet part), and it is ok, but the cyclops is much quieter and smoother.

I'm no expert, and don't have much experience on the trainer yet, but I purchased an "angry badger" from Bikesport Michigan last month and I'm very pleased with the deal.  They were doing the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine (Fluid Trainer) last month and it was much cheaper than I could find it anywhere else, new or used.

Just my 2 cents.

I used to have a Marinoni trainer, which I paid very little for.  It was so noisy that I threw it in the garbage.  Then I got the CycleOps fluid trainer and found it to be superior in every way.  It is rock solid, adjustable and WHISPER QUIET!  I hear that the Kurt Kinetic is a better trainer because it does not leak, however, after 3 years my CycleOps is still dry.

X2... I just got my 2nd KK with the angry badger deal so now the wife has her own.... GREAT trainer. Smooth, quiet, great feel. Now 2 hours of boredom is at least quiet and allows me to watch 24...(the whole season in a week!) FWIW, 2 LBS's here said without a doubt, it's the best trainer out there...
